R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Anthony Reyes of Kountze has attained the rank of |
|
|
Eagle Scout, and this accomplishment truly merits special |
|
|
recognition; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Eagle Scout badge is a significant honor, one |
|
|
bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the scouting |
|
|
movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding criteria, |
|
|
Mr. Reyes, of Boy Scout Troop No. 88, earned the requisite 21 merit |
|
|
badges and completed an Eagle Scout project benefiting Southeast |
|
|
Texas law enforcement officers; for the latter endeavor, he |
|
|
constructed steel target stand holders in a concrete slab base at |
|
|
the firearms training facility of the Beaumont Police Department; |
|
|
the firing range is used not only by the department but also by the |
|
|
Federal Bureau of Investigation and other local agencies; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Reyes is a homeschool student who enjoys playing |
|
|
chess, studying martial arts, and participating in outdoor |
|
|
activities; he is assistant lead altar server at Infant Jesus |
|
|
Catholic Church, where he plays bass guitar in the youth band and is |
|
|
a member of the youth group; he also assists Bishop Curtis J. |
|
|
Guillory, of the Diocese of Beaumont, as an episcopal altar server; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The son of Joseph and Orfanery Reyes, this fine |
|
|
young Texan has demonstrated outstanding leadership ability |
|
|
throughout his scouting career, winning the respect and admiration |
|
|
of his fellow troop members as he worked toward the highest rank |
|
|
that scouting offers; his future plans include serving his country |
|
|
in the U.S. Air Force and earning a degree in agriculture; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Reyes's dedication to excellence and his |
|
|
perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy to |
|
|
stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with pride |
|
|
on a job well done; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Anthony Reyes on achieving the rank |
|
|
of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Eagle Scout Reyes as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
