        |  | R E S O L U T I O N | 
      
        |  | WHEREAS, Ricardo Zamora retired from The University of Texas | 
      
        |  | at San Antonio on April 3, 2015, after more than a quarter-century | 
      
        |  | of dedicated service; and | 
      
        |  | WHEREAS, Born and raised in the Alamo City, Rick Zamora grew | 
      
        |  | up in a large family and spent his summers harvesting seasonal crops | 
      
        |  | in Michigan and Ohio; he graduated from high school and | 
      
        |  | subsequently joined the U.S. armed forces, serving his nation | 
      
        |  | admirably during the Vietnam War as a military policeman and K-9 | 
      
        |  | handler; he returned to San Antonio upon completion of his military | 
      
        |  | obligations and later took courses at a local university; and | 
      
        |  | WHEREAS, Mr. Zamora was employed as a construction inspector | 
      
        |  | for the City of San Antonio for several years before working in | 
      
        |  | facilities planning, design, and construction management for a San | 
      
        |  | Antonio-based health care facility for 15 years; he then joined the | 
      
        |  | staff at UTSA as capital projects manager for major building | 
      
        |  | construction, where he was responsible for more than $750,000,000 | 
      
        |  | in projects over the course of his 26-year tenure; and | 
      
        |  | WHEREAS, In retirement, this esteemed Texan plans to travel | 
      
        |  | and spend more time with his wife; moreover, Mr. Zamora hopes to | 
      
        |  | continue to share his talents and energies as a member of the | 
      
        |  | building committee for VFW Post No. 76; and | 
      
        |  | WHEREAS, The University of Texas at San Antonio has benefited | 
      
        |  | from the hard work, dedication, and expertise of Ricardo Zamora, | 
      
        |  | and he may indeed take great pride in his achievements as he begins | 
      
        |  | the next exciting chapter of his life; now, therefore, be it | 
      
        |  | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas | 
      
        |  | Legislature hereby congratulate Ricardo Zamora on his retirement | 
      
        |  | from The University of Texas at San Antonio and extend to him | 
      
        |  | sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further | 
      
        |  | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | 
      
        |  | prepared for Mr. Zamora as an expression of high regard by the Texas | 
      
        |  | House of Representatives. |
