AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2387 




2 AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2387 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:


4 "Section 5. The Firearm Owners Identification Card Act is 
5amended by adding Section 9.7 as follows:

6 (430 ILCS 65/9.7 new)
7 Sec. 9.7. Firearm disposition. 
8 (a) A Firearm Disposition Record form shall be filed with 
9both the Department of State Police and the circuit court 
10located in the county in which the transferor resides.
11 (b) The recipient of any firearm transferred by way of a 
12Firearm Disposition Record form shall file with the circuit 
13court in which they reside along with the Department of State 
14Police a sworn affidavit attesting that the person: 
15  (1) is aware of, and will abide by the current law 
16 regarding the unlawful transfer of a firearm;

1   (2) is aware of the penalties for violating the law as 
2 it pertains to unlawful transfer of a firearm; 
3  (3) intends to retain possession of the firearm until 
4 it is determined that the transferor is capable of 
5 possessing the firearm, or until a new person is chosen to 
6 hold the firearm; and 
7  (4) informs the Department and the circuit court of any 
8 address or names changes that occur while the person 
9 possesses the firearm.".
