       The Committee on Children, Families, and Elder Affairs (Book)
       recommended the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with directory and title amendments)
    2  
    3         Between lines 971 and 972
    4  insert:
    5         (7) PROCEDURE FOR CONTINUED INVOLUNTARY INPATIENT
    6  PLACEMENT.—
    7         (d) If at a hearing it is shown that the patient continues
    8  to meet the criteria for involuntary inpatient placement, the
    9  administrative law judge shall sign the order for continued
   10  involuntary inpatient placement for up to 90 days. However, any
   11  order for involuntary mental health services in a treatment
   12  facility may be for up to 6 months. The same procedure shall be
   13  repeated before the expiration of each additional period the
   14  patient is retained.
